NICE - Centre for Movement Disorders was established in 1986 under the charity 'The Foundation for Conductive Education' (reg no: 295873). We provide Conductive Education across the age ranges from young babies to elderly adults. Our school and nursery are Ofsted registered

Our services include:

Milestone Club - for children and parents/guardians up to the age of 3 years.

Red Boots Nursery - for children aged 3 - 5 years

Red Boots School and Reception - for children aged 4 - 11 years

Sessional and block placements for children aged 5 - 14 years

Adult rehabilitation services

Our services primarily cater for people with cerebral palsy, global developmental delay, dyspraxia/DCD, stroke, MS, Parkinson's and acquired brain injury. All groups are run by qualified conductors.

Alongside direct services we also house The Conductive College. This is affiliated to Open College Network West Midlands and Birmingham City University who act as validating bodies for accredited training. We currently run:

Level 3 Conductive Assistant Course

BA Hons with Qualified Conductor Status

MA Conductive Education

MA Special Education.

In addition to formalised training we also offer bespoke consultancy and training in the field of Conductive Education. These are at national and internatioanl levels. 

We house the only Conductive Education library resource in the UK.
